Amusing Language

The following quote comes from an NBC online article explaining the death of Ryan Dunn:

The police press release reads, “Preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.”

WELL, I don’t know, considering the previous sentence stated that the car shot through 40 yards of trees and burst into flames, yeah, speed MAY HAVE been a contributed factor. MAYBE. Still not sure though. That’s some classy detective work right there.

I am forever amused by the bizarre euphemisms used in “legal” language.
